Next-Level Clay Wheel Throwing With Stoneware

This Next Level Clay Wheel Throwing Class is designed for those who have taken multiple intro classes and/or have recently mastered how to center, open, widen, and pull clay on the wheel. This class takes your skills to the next level and gives you instructional guidance toward your goals. Do you want to create taller pieces? Do you want to create wider pieces? Do you want to learn how to attach handles or create lids? Whatever your goal, our patient and experienced instructors will guide you toward that goal.

Take several classes to advance skills.

We will be working with Cone 5/6 stoneware clay.  Create one to two larger pieces during this class time, and any pieces you choose to keep will then be fired and ready for your return visit to glaze with stoneware glazes in the design and colors of your choice.  Pieces need to dry completely before firing and can take approximately to two weeks.  We contact you when pieces are ready to paint and you may come in any time during business hours for the glazing process with no reservation required.  Finished pieces, that you choose to keep are priced at $12 per pound, and this price includes the clay, the trimming service, kiln firing, stoneware glaze session, and the final glaze firing.  Most Next Level attendees will work with two to three pounds or more to perfect their skills on larger pieces.

This is a class for ages 15 and up who have already taken multiple intro classes with Burst Of Butterflies, or other experience in working with clay on the wheel.  We will be teaching advanced skills that rely on your ability to confidently center, open, widen and pull clay on the wheel.
