This week, the front of our Burst of Butterflies Create & Paint Studio in downtown Chandler got a fresh new look—and it came straight from the heart.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Peg and Cheryl rolled up our sleeves and repainted the entire front of the building. Tuesday was dedicated to the lower portion below the awnings, and Wednesday we tackled everything above them. All told, it was about five hours each day, two gallons of paint, and a whole lot of climbing up and down ladders. We even painted during the rain sprinkle that threatened to derail us.
It wasn’t glamorous.
It wasn’t easy.
But it was absolutely worth it.
Altogether, we spent about ten hours total, and Peg and Cheryl made a great team—focused and determined.
There’s something deeply satisfying about caring for the space where so much creativity happens. This building isn’t just a storefront—it’s where kids make their first clay projects, where friends gather to paint and laugh, where families celebrate birthdays, and where countless memories are made.
Doing this work ourselves matters to us. It’s a reflection of the pride we take in our studio and in being part of the downtown Chandler community. Every brushstroke was intentional, and every ladder climb was powered by love for this place and the people who walk through our doors.
If you notice the fresh coat next time you visit, now you know the story behind it. And if you haven’t stopped by in a while—this is your sign.
We can’t wait to welcome you in. 💜🦋. When you walk in to paint, take a moment to check out the fresh look.
Before the Refresh…
After 11 years of Arizona sun, the paint had become uneven and splotchy in places—especially around the arches and doors—making it clear that the building was ready for some care.
